According to latest reports, Akshay Kumar’s Kanchana remake titled Lakshmi will see the Khiladi romance Kiara Advani on screen for the first time. Read on! From comedy to action and family drama, Akshay Kumar has forayed into all the genres but after a long time, Mr. Khiladi will be back to the horror comedy genre with the remake of the Tamil film Kanchana aka Muni and the original series of horror comedies was directed by Raghava Lawrence. And after Akshay Kumar, buzz has it that Kiara Advani has been roped in opposite Akshay Kumar and for the first time, Akshay Kumar will be seen romancing Kiara Advani on screen. That’s right!
Although Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani will be sharing screen space in Good News but for the first time, the two will be seen romancing each other. After making her Bollywood debut with the 2014-film Fugly, Kiara was seen in super hit M.S.Dhoni opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and next, Kiara will be seen in Raj Mehta’s Good News co-starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. For all those who don’t know, the Hindi remake of Kanchana has been titled Lakshmi and it will mark Akshay’s return to his favourite genre of horror comedy as after 2007-film Bhool Bulaiyaa, Akshay will be making a comeback into the horror comedy genre with Kanchana.
According to reports, “Kiara has almost been confirmed for the role, and now only the final formalities are being worked out. Akshay is currently busy with Good News (starring Kareena Kapoor Khan), post which he will get on this project. The remake has been on Akshay’s mind for a long time now and he’s happy that finally things are falling into place.” On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in the war film Kesari opposite Parineeti Chopra and besides Akshay’s convincing portrayal of a Sikh warrior in the film, Kesari has already zoomed past the Rs 100 crore club
