The 8th PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week will be held from the 4th to the 6th of September 2018 in Lahore this year. A combination of both established and new names, it shows that PLBW is committed to holding on to experience while having the strength to inject new names into the system as well.
PFDC tend to promote the talented designers to come forth with their exceptional skills as this is the platform where they make a mark by outstanding work. This year PFDC has given an opportunity to all the fresh emergent designers to portray their best to the fashion industry. Keeping true to their commitments of nurturing, developing and introducing new brands and talent to fashion.
Fashion Week will be three days and 24 shows long and one is also very interested in the PLBW debuts, which are being made by mehroz saboor, ahmad sultan, faraz abid sheikhu, tabyakhan and the young and talented Hira Ali. Let’s have a sneak peek to their collection:
Faraz Abid sheikhu:
A very talented imminent designer Faraz Abid Sheikhu has showcased his collection of bridal wear at PFDC’18 named “surtaal” which is exquisite in its own as we can see the colours, cuts and exceptional use of chiffon and net intricate with delicate embroidery, fine cuts detailing at the silhouettes and designs. It does matched with its name as it caters the soothing theme of nude pastel colours.
The collection name was “nazara e ishq” that can be predominantly seen in his collection theme. Ahmed Sultan showcased his “Nazrana-e-Ishq” collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from the pure feeling of falling in love. The color palette is based in bright and bold colours with shades of red and gold. Set in rich luxurious materials such as chiffons, nets, organza, kimkhab, kundun zair, silks and jamawars the collection aims to reinvent classic silhouettes with a modern twist by making use of traditional embroideries with modern 3D work. The showcase also featured menswear pieces.TV actress Aiman Khan participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper.
Hira Ali Studios showcased her debut bridal collection ‘Snap Trapped’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection is an ode to modern day youth culture. Lepidoptera Cocktails, red velvet ,pride jacket and stonewall warrior are some of the articles that were showcased and left us spell bound by her brilliant talent and amazing use of cuts, embroidery, cloth and stones. Predominantly focuses on the contemporary fashion Hira Ali has it all what it takes to be the brand.
First collection was by Tabya Khan, titled ‘Jasmin’. The collection drew the inspiration from Chinese Art Deco. Based in shades of pink, the collection used luxury fabrics such as organza, nets and tissue. Film and TV actress Sarwat Gilani was the showstopper for the designer.
Mehroze Saboor made his debut at the Bridal Week presenting the collection ‘The Garden of Earthy Delights’. Inspired from the memory of the Garden of Eden, the collection embraced the symbolic meanings of revival with its sacred stories and the folklore of romance surrounded by roses. The collection was constructed with various types of silks; Japanese crepe with silhouettes designed by keeping in mind the clothing styles of the Renaissance such as cloaks, capes and structured jackets.
