T-series removed Atif Aslam’s song Kinna Suna from You Tube: Twitteratis can’t handle it!
Pakistan’s astounding singer Atif Aslam has marked his name in the list of world’s best singers pertaining to his strong vocals and amazing voice quality. Bollywood swoon over his fascinating voice and there was not a single movie in which he hadn’t given his vocals when Indo-pak relations were normal. As spurring tension between two countries rouse, Pakistani artists were banned in Bollywood. From then on, there is a cold war provoked on social media and Indians condemn promotion of any Pakistani artist vis their platforms.
Music label and production house T-Series on Wednesday removed a song by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam from their YouTube channel after objections from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). MNS Chitrapat Sena president Ameya Khopkar, who warned the production house of “major action” if it did not remove the video. The criticism poured in as Pakistani artists have been barred from working in India by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA).
In a letter addressed to MNS chief Raj Thackeray, T-Series said the track was erroneously uploaded on their YouTube channel.
“The said song, sung by Atif Aslam, was put out on the YouTube channel of T-Series by one of our employees. He was unaware of his actions, which led to the mistake. We deeply regret this and apologise for the same. We assure you that the song won’t release on our platform and we won’t promote it either. We are taking down the song and reassure you that we won’t be assisting any Pakistani singers,”
In response, T-Series later had to issue a statement, saying: “It has been brought to our notice that the said song has been sung by Atif Aslam and this song was put up on the YouTube channel of T-Series by one of our employees from the promotion team. He was unaware of his action and erred while putting up the song. We condemn our mistake and apologize for the same. We assure you that henceforth we will neither release, nor promote the song on any platform of T-Series. Meanwhile, we are removing the said song from our YouTube channel. We also assure you that henceforth we will not be releasing or promoting work by any Pakistani artistes.”
