Sonali Bendre, who was undergoing treatment for cancer in the US for 6 months, returned to India in December. Two days ago, she appeared on the cover page of Harper’s Bazaar India and wrote on Twitter, “There’s no one way to tell how our experiences change us or shape us. Not all transformations are visible. What I’ve learnt is to never let it hold me back. I‘d rather dress up and show up! That’s how I would describe my shoot for the @bazaarindia cover.”
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar India magazine, Sonali Bendre opened up about her journey of battling with cancer. The actress told the magazine, “So when my PET [Positron Emission Tomography] scan showed up cancer had spread all over my abdomen, like fairy lights scattered all over, and when the doctor in New York said that there was about 30 per cent chance of it all going away, we were shattered.”
Bendre further added that when she was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment, she never thought of death. She knew it will be a long struggle but never thought that she would die.
For her treatment, Sonali Bendre had to go bald. While talking to Mumbai Mirror earlier, the actress said that she misses her hair. Sonali Bendre told MM that her whole life has been about her hair as she has endorsed every hair product at some point in her life.
