Shamaeel Collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2014

One of Pakistan’s leading fashion designers, Shamaeel Ansari makes her PFDC platform debut with her bridal couture collection, “The Wedding” at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2014. The collection comprises of pieces for all wedding functions including bridal outfits for trousseau, mayun, mehendi, bari, nikkah and even for sisters of the bride and groom.The ensembles have been designed on rich silks, thread embroidered surfaces, antique vintage gold coiled work, recreation of embroideries and antique tankas in zardozi with thread work. Shamaeel has used shorter cuts for young girls, dramatic moods and dramatic coats wearable by all ages and lengths in the formal regalia. With a distinct color palette including shades of saffron, burnished metallic, dramatic black, marrakesh reds and pristine ivory, the collection will focus on mother of pearl tones for nikkah wears, bright vintage looks for main events and saffron incorporations in embroidery and threadworks.

The iconic “Shamaeel” is a true blue universal designer with 28 years of experience in the industry and is currently chairperson of the Fashion Pakistan Council. A prominent bulwark of Pakistan’s fashion industry, Shamaeel has been recognized domestically and internationally for her fashion prowess and has the distinction of being on the Board of Directors of numerous fashion institutes. “Shamaeel” has to her credit many solo shows which she has undertaken nationally and internationally. She also has to her credit multiple national and International awards, such as the Lux Style Award 2011 for achievement in fashion. She is of the few Pakistani fashion artistes who have designed for companies such as Donna-Karen U.S.A and Club Monaco Canada. Shamaeel’s vast portfolio includes many international trade fairs such as Heimtextil in Germany, Magic Show Las Vegas in U.S.A and the renowned Audi Fashion Festival in Singapore. Her product lines comprise of Bridal, Couture, Prêt and mass apparel fabrics exported and coveted regionally and internationally.
