Saira Shakira Collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2014
“The PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week is a huge platform for any designer. Initially awareness about our brand was achieved through positive word of mouth but we plan to create heightened awareness of our brand through this prestigious platform.”
Making its runway debut this April 2014 at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week is fashion label Saira Shakira with their pret a porter collection ‘Cirque du Vanite’ inspired by ‘the circus’. For this womenswear collection, the brand has used a mixture of stiff, soft and sheer fabrics such as organza, chiffons, gold tissue and silks to create a structured yet feminine look. With a monochromatic colour palette, the collection is primarily based in black and white, with gold and deep red as accent colours. Key trends being highlighted are floral, tribal and geometric prints in pleats and sheer fabric with high hemlines.
The designer duo of Saira Faisal and Shakira Usman launched their brand ‘Saira Shakira’ in 2011 having graduated from the prestigious Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design in 2003.
