Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy turned out to be box office bonanza for everyone involved. While it has already become the highest grossing film for filmmaker Zoya Akhtar in just a week of its release, the movie is all set to be the highest grossing film for Alia Bhatt in a couple of days beating Raazi and the fourth highest grossing film for Ranveer Singh after Padmaavat, Simmba and Bajirao Mastani. While in India, the movie has made Rs 120.80 crore in just 12 days of its release, it is performing even better in the overseas market. The movie has hit $9 million mark with a huge $4 million coming from the USA box office. With good collections in India and phenomenal figures at the overseas box office, Gully Boy has made more than Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office. While in India, Gully Boy has grossed Rs 141 crore (Rs 120.80 crore nett), it has made Rs 64 crore in the overseas, taking its worldwide total to a huge Rs 205 crore approximately.
Gully Boy is now Ranveer Singh’s third consecutive Rs 200 crore grosser at the worldwide box office. Though it is far behind Padmaavat and Simmba. While Gully Boy did well at the box office in its opening week, it faced tough competition from Total Dhamaal in its second week. The movie is now slowing down and is expected to touch Rs 140 crore nett mark by the end of its lifetime run.
