R…Rajkumar: Shahid & Sonakshi Desperately Need A Hit?

Last updated:

Shahid

It’s been three years since Shahid Kapoor tasted success at the Box Office. It was way back in 2010, that Shahid derived a hit with Parmeet Sethi’s directorial debut Badmaash Company.

Post this he has had four releases – Milenge Milenge with Kareena Kapoor (2010), Mausam with Sonam Kapoor (2011), Teri Meri Kahaani with Priyanka Chopra (2012) and the very recent Phata Poster Nikla Hero with Ileana D’Cruz (2013). Now, all the four films have been disasters at the Box Office.

His next would be Prabhu Deva’s R…Rajkumar, where he is paired opposite Sonakshi Sinha for the first time. The film is releasing on December 6, 2013. Also starring alongside Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha are Sonu Sood, Mukul Dev, Ashish Vidyarthi and Asrani.

The only other film apart from this that Shahid has is, Vishal Bhardwaj‘s Haider for which he has started shooting in Kashmir. His leading lady in this film is Shraddha Kapoor, who would also be seen in Karan Johar‘s home production Gori Tere Pyar Mein.

Shahid teams up with Bhardwaj again after Kaminey, and this film is an adaption of Shakespearean tragedy HamletHaider revolves around the life of people in Kashmir, both in the past and present. Every character is a Kashmiri in the film.

Of what we know Tabu is also a part of Haider.

This is the second film that Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor have signed together. The first one being Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Milan Talkies. But, both walked out of that project.
