Mohib Mirza is one of the few actors who have made his presence felt in Pakistani showbiz industry by constantly portraying varied characters; one of his most popular character is of Ishrat Baji on Aag TV’s sitcom Ishrat Baji.

Starting his career in late 90’s as a theatre actor; he made his debut on television by acting in Sahira Kazmi’s popular PTV drama serial Zebunnisa. Since then Mirza has no looking back as he has worked in 21 telefilms, 13 dramaserials, 23 commercials, 6 music videos, 20 shows as hosts, 2 movies and countless voiceovers which reveals the diversity that the actor is having in playing a great variety of roles.

Mohib is well recognized with the Pakistani media industry and beyond. Unlike most of the actors, he has not played hackneyed roles in the television plays and telefilms, he keeps on experimenting with his characters and challenging his acting skills. Mohib Mirza reflects the millions, the diversity and the emotions of Karachi as being the cosmopolitan urban center, via his versatile yet grounded approach to acting. In the eyes of every character we see the actors mark, whether villainous, comic, romantic or tragic, his facial expressions and his gaze adopt each character as almost a part if his own self.

Recently Mohib Mirza has worked on a number of projects comprising tele-film, commercials and on-air serials such as Zip Bus Chup Raho, Tootay Huay Parr and Roag, Khota Sikka and Canebaaz (con-man). He also appeared in Music Videos of Hadiqa Kiani’s Saraiki, Akhter Qayyum’s remix video Kali Kali Rat Mai, Abrar-ul-Haq’s Nacchan Me Ode Naal, Call’s Paas Kuch Nahi, Tania and Omer’s Tere Liye.

He earned international recognition with his film Insha Allah (2009), winning the award in Best Supporting Actor category at the International Filmmaker Film Festival held in Kent, England. Mohib Mirza is the only Pakistani actor to won the award at Kent’s film festival. Pakistani model Mohib Mirza has also produced a pictorial book called Silent Cinema, with which he wished to revive Pakistan’s film industry. The book comprises Mohib Mirza, Sanam Baloch, Juggan Kazim, and Sunita Marshall. A year later, Mirza was nominated for best television actor at the 9th Lux Style Awards in Dil-i-Nadan, for his portrayal of a womaniser. He has recently on a film Josh alongwith her wife Aminah Sheikh which is already making a headlines in different film festivals.

Mohib Mirza is married to famous television actress and model Aamina Sheikh. Mohib and Aamina met on the sets of a show which Mohib was hosting and Aamina was directing. “It took me about six meetings to convince her father that I was indeed the right person for her,” he tells in an interview. They have now been happily married for seven years.
