Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone, two of the topmost stars of the Hindi film industry, have never worked in a film together. Reportedly, the two had come very close to sharing screen space when Deepika was offered to play the leading lady in Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). The actress, however, had rejected the offer and the role had gone to Sonam Kapoor.

Salman, in an interview with DNA, was asked as to when he will do a film with Deepika. “Actually, even I’m wondering when will I work with Deepika?,” he told .On being prodded further, the superstar said, “No one has come forward to cast me with her. Deepika is a big star, so it has to be worth her while to do a film with me. Right now, there is nothing.”

Talking about his forthcoming projects and his leading ladies in them, Salman further said, “In Bharat, Katrina Kaif is my heroine. She will also be my leading lady in the third part of the Tiger series. In Dabangg 3, there’s Sonakshi Sinha. In Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick 2, I’m paired with Jacqueline Fernandez. So, if something comes up with Deepika, then perhaps…”

Salman recently wrapped up the shoot of Bharat that marks his third collaboration with director Ali Abbas Zafar after Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). The film, starring Disha Patani, Tabu, Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover in supporting roles, is slated to hit the screens on the big holiday of Eid i.e. June 5. It also has cameo appearances by Varun Dhawn and Nora Fatehi.
