Kareena Kapoor to play ‘Bengalan’ in ‘Bombay Samurai’?
After Shuddhi, it looks like Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor may lose a chance to star in upcoming film ‘Bombay Samurai’. According to recent reports the film’s release date has been pushed and also the cast might be replaced.
A leading tabloid reported that director Dev Benegal is reportedly reworking on the script due to which the production, which was supposed to go on the floors from March this year, has been pushed to 2015.
Due the change in schedule, one of the three co-producers, Excel Entertainment has walked out of the project.
The tabloid quoted a source as saying, “Firstly, Dev specified that he wanted technicians of his choice on his team. Excel arranged for them but he was unable to wrap up pre-production work on time. And after much deliberation, Ritesh Sidhwani decided to inform him that Excel does not wish to be associated with the film. However, they have parted ways amicably.”
Following the changes, Benegal may also reconsider his cast which included Kareena and Farhan Akhtar in the leads.
“Dev has a wonderful script and he might get a new producer soon. The star cast too may not remain the same.”
