Karan Johar charges Rs. 11 for Bombay Velvet

Many actors have done cameos and special appearances as a friendly gesture without charging remuneration. May it be Salman Khan (for many films) or newbie Shraddha Kapoor (Gori Teri Pyaar Mein), they have all agreed to their respective roles, out of respect or love for the filmmaker. Continuing the trend is Karan Johar.

He is a popular director-producer, but Karan’s role as a negative character in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet has caught everyone’s attention and now, we hear that the filmmaker has refused to take his fees and taken only Rs. 11 for good luck. Vikas Bahl, one of the producers of the film, stated that Karan has not taken his remuneration for his role in the film and that they are all indebted to him for his sweet gesture. While Karan has done cameos before, his role in Bombay Velvet is said to be a full-fledged one.

Produced by Fox Star Studios and Phantom Films, Bombay Velvet stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Kay Kay Menon amongst others and is slated to release on November 28.
