Janhvi Kapoor vs Sara Ali Khan? Here’s the response of Sridevi’s daughter
Looks like the new crop of star kids have a mature head on their shoulders. Actor Janhvi Kapoor, who made a successful Bollywood debut with Dhadak, certainly fits into the category. She was recently asked about competition with other newcomers in the industry like Ananya Pandey, Sara Ali Khan and Tara Sutaria and her reply was a mature and sensible one.
she said that it was not fair to ask women alone about competition from their contemporaries. Why was it that only she was being asked this question and not Ishaan? She also mentioned that competition wasn’t as a bad thing as people make it sound to be.
“I don’t know why everyone is pitting us against each other. I guess people enjoy doing that. Competition is a bad thing if you make it sound that way.” She added that only women are pitted against each other, not men. She believed Ishaan (her Dhadak co-star Ishaan Khatter) had every reason to feel “the sting of competition, too!”
She added how people loved pitting women against each other. However, the fact of the matter was they could easily be happy and “celebrate each other’s success”. That co-existing wasn’t difficult if one did one’s job well, she said.
Janhvi went on to say how she too is an audience and, as one, she was looking forward to seeing Sara, Ananya and Tara perform onscreen. The fact was that she has interacted with Sara and Ananya helped and she knew they were wonderful people.
Now that her film is out, did her contemporaries share their views with her? Janhvi, always alert to a question, answered that once the promos of Dhadak were out, both the girls spoke to her and that “they were sweet”.
