Summer season brings in the most common skin problem, prickly heat rashes. These rashes are caused due to skin cell damage. Perspiration leads to skin cell damage which traps the sweat. When the sweat is trapped beneath the skin, the infection causes rashes.
These are itchy red rashes. Moreover, wearing fabric which does not allow sweat to dry makes it enter inside the skin again which in return blocks the sweat ducts and causes itchy rashes. Increase in body heat is also one of the causes of heat rashes in summer. There are many ways to cure summer heat rashes naturally. From rubbing ice to wearing light fabric like cotton, you can do numerous things to get rid of those itchy skin rashes naturally.
Other home remedies include neem leaves, multani mitti, aloe vera gel, baking soda, cornstarch to name a few. All you need to do is mix them with ingredients like water or milk and apply on the heat rashes. You will see the small red itchy balls reduce gradually.
Here are some of the best remedies that you can try at home to get rid of the summer heat rashes which causes terrible itching.
  • Ice Cubes Rubbing ice cubes not only provides a cooling effect, but also helps treat itchy heat rashes. Rub ice cubes twice a day to reduce the itchiness.
  • Cornstarch Bath A cold water bath is always relaxing to the skin. Add some cornstarch powder in cold water to reduce heat rashes.
  • Neem Leaves Grind neem leaves and apply the paste on the rashes. Neem is well known for its anti-bacterial properties. Apply the neem paste on the rashes and after an hour, wash it off with cold water.
  • Aloe Vera Gel Aloe Vera cools off the skin, treats irritation and heals the skin and infection caused due to the accumulation of sweat.
  • Baking Soda Add one teaspoon of baking soda and a cup of oatmeal powder to the bath tub. Soak the affected area for about 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
  • Sandalwood Powder Sandalwood powder provides a cooling effect to the skin. Apply a sandalwood powder and rose water paste to the affected area and leave it for five minutes. Rinse with cold water.
  • Camphor With Oil Put one camphor tablet in a small bottle of coconut oil. Leave it overnight for the camphor to melt in the oil. Apply this oil on the skin rash to reduce it naturally.
