The Indian film industry has welcomed Humaima Malick with open arms, making her the first Pakistani actress to have carved a niche for herself in Bollywood with her debut film. In the past, some of her contemporaries tried their luck in Bollywood but failed to make a mark. The Pakistani beauty recently made her much-awaited Bollywood film debut in Kunal Deshmukh’s con caper ‘Raja Natwarlal’. Talking about the film’s performance at the box office, Amir Rashid, a distributor at IMGC, said ‘Raja Natwarlal‘ had collected Rs 27 million since its release two weeks ago. He said even with a packed BO with films such as the Bipasha Basu-starrer ‘Creature 3D‘ and Priyanka Chopra‘s ‘Mary Kom‘, Humaima‘s Bollywood debut is still performing exceptionally well, which is evident from all the moolah it’s raked in. Humaima received a thunderous response for her acting talent as well as dancing skills in the film. She has received an amazing feedback from critics not just in India, but the UAE also where even her fans are going gaga over her after watching the film. Humaima has proved that with sheer talent and ability nothing can stop you from achieving success, wherever it maybe. She surely has everything that it takes to move ahead and stand in the same league as some Bollywood biggies. The testimony to Humaima being accepted by India and Bollywood is that when she appeared on India’s top most TV shows to promote her film along with her co-star Emran Hashmi, the audience were seen cheering for her and wanting to talk to her. From Comedy Nights with Kapil to Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa to Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Humaima appeared on all of them and shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the Indian film industry, including Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, and many more. Another proof of Humaima’s acting being loved in her debut film is that she has been signed for a three-film deal by none other than India’s most loved and sought-after filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Now that’s quite an achievement. Raja Natwarlal director Kunal Deshmukh, in a recent interview to a Pakistani English daily, said about Humaima: “She never gave me the feeling that she is a first-time actor [in Bollywood].” He also went ahead and expressed his wish to work with the gorgeous lass again. “As an actor, she’s spontaneous and intuitive. Acting comes naturally to her. Not only is she a fantastic looking girl, but also very talented. She is the complete package,” added Deshmukh.
