Sonakshi Sinha has always been unapologetic about doing commercial, masala Bollywood films. The actress, who in a short span, has been a part of four Rs 100 crore films, (‘Dabangg’, ‘Dabangg 2’, ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Son of Sardaar’) says, “These are the kind of films I would love to watch even as an audience. It’s great to be part of them.”
Sona did do an offbeat Vikramaditya film, ‘Lootera’ in the interim, but it wasn’t a conscious move, the actress clarifies. “I loved the film’s script and felt that I fit right in. When people appreciated my work, it felt like my hard work paid off. But I assure you, I did not do the film to prove a point to anyone,” she says.
She is now gearing up for two back-to-back commercial films — ‘Bullet Raja’ and ‘R… Rajkumar’. “Both these films are very different from each other. ‘One’ is a Prabhu Deva film which is a lot of fun and the other, is a complete action, gangster flick with dark humour by Tigmanshu Dhulia,” she says.
She further adds, “I have always said that commercial masala films are my first love. Regardless of what some critics might have to say about such films, I am completely unapologetic about it.”
