Coke Studio episode 6- A mix of Good and average songs

We will  say Coke studio epsidoe 6 was quite successful in giving a tribute to Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Dum Mast Qalandar has always been on top of our favorite music list. Shuja haider gave a bit  different music concept  to this version. Jabbar abbas and Umair aswal both had a very different voice texture but will say they were both able to sync with each other. Overall they did a very good job with this song.

Missing someone may just be one of the toughest feelings you have to go through.  That bittersweet feeling is strong enough to wrench, tug, squeeze, and break your heart. The song “ ye soch” sung by ali zafar and Natasha khan is a beautiful mix of two languages and a very melodious song for the people who are longing for loved ones and still not in a mood to give up. The background sitar music is giving us the chills.  It’s a bit slow and average song but no doubt it’s quite melodious too.

Undeniably this song  “ Katay na katay” was our favorite. Cant stop listening to the  Humaira  Arshad’s part. The singer Aima baig, Humera Arshad, Rachel Viccaji did a wonderful job.

We would say if this song was only sung by Humera Arshad, it would be a hit, but the other two singers gave it a little modern touch with the mix of rock and semi classical.  Ali Hamza perfectly blended the instrument and we would the music direction was up to the mark. This song is a must listen and will be expecting more of Humera arashad in coke studio.

Ghoom Taana sung by Momina mustehsan and Irtaash. The music was directed by Salman ahmed. This song was not able impress us a lot. There were few weak aspects in this song. Though Momina’s voice always very melodious.  They could have done a better job with this but we want you still listen to this song to judge it yourself
