The must awaited coke studio season 6 is finally going to be on air on 13 October.
Pakistani music is always been on top. No doubt we have inspiring and talented singer who are very much successful. From last five years, Coke studio has evolved the music in an unexpected way and provided the most anticipated collection of music each season. From last five years coke studio is continuously inspiring the nation and surprising the entertainment circuits. Rohail Hyatt, the begetter of Coke Studio and his team are accredited with sparking intrigue by developing an innovative interface where watching the artists perform in the studio has become as important as listening to their music. The energy and spirit on screen is therefore equally responsible for Coke Studio allure. With each season the expectation becomes higher and every year it goes over board to excite its viewers and followers.
Fans of the coke studio were anticipating the much awaited coke studio season 6 but now the wait is over.Coca-Cola Pakistan proudly announced the return of the nations’ most anticipated music platform, Coke Studio at an acclaimed press conference held in Lahore, where as sixth season of exciting talent, diverse musical influences and dynamic performances will be aired.
At the conference, the participants of season 6 were introduced. Red and black Coco Cola theme décor was elaborate. The launch was a star-studded event with most of the featuring artists and house band members present.
The event was hosted by Anoushey Ashraf. The press conference was opened by a musical rendition of the National Anthem followed by a minute of silence in remembrance of the Peshawer bombing and Balochistan earthquake victims. A video recapturing the essence and influence of the past 5 seasons of Coke Studio was screened thereafter, following which the host invited Rizwan U. Khan, General Manager of Coca-Cola Pakistan and John Seward, General Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCBPL) onto the stage. An exclusive Season 6 session preview, featuring Muazzam Ali Khan and Fariha Pervez titled ‘Jogi’ was also screened for all the attendees. Anoushey then invited participating talent from Coke Studio Season 6 on stage.
Season 6 is features the following artists: Abrar-ul-Haq, Alamgir, Ali Azmat, Asad Abbas, Atif Aslam, Ayesha Omar, Fariha Pervez, Muazzam Ali Khan, Rostam Mirlashari, Rustam Fateh Ali Khan, Saieen Zahoor, Sanam Marvi, Sumru Ağıryürüyen, Umair Jaswal, Zara Madani, Zeb & Haniya and Zoe Viccaji.
The Coke Studio house band for Season 6 features Asad Ahmed on guitar, Babar Ali Khanna on dholak, Jaffer Zaidi on keyboards, Kamran ‘Mannu’ Zafar on bass, Louis ‘Gumby’ Pinto on drums, Sikandar Mufti on percussion and drums, Omran Shafique on guitar and Zoe Viccaji and Rachel Viccaji on backing vocals.
Speaking about Coke Studio, Rizwan U. For the first time since its inception, this season will also musicians from Italy, Morocco, Nepal, Norway, Pakistan, Serbia and Turkey. This years’ Coke Studio voyage will witness a fusion of Eastern, Western and regionally inspired music for which the platform has come to be renowned. However, this season goes deeper in its journey, exploring the international heritage of popular local music genres, tracing these global influences that have left an indelible impact on Pakistan’s national and cultural musical identity.
“I am very much excited about the Coke Studio and expecting very good response from the fans. It is such a great pleasure and owner to work with amazing artists. Music is a huge part of my life and I think my life is incomplete without it.” said Ayesha Omer while talking to EBuzzToday. I would say Ayesha Omer is the person we can’t expect to be in coke studio and it was really every much shocking when her name was called.
Talking to Fariha Pervaiz about coke studio season 6, she said “Coke Studio is a breath of fresh air for music industry in Pakistan and I am proud of being part of it”
In season 6, Umair Jaswal also be performing solo in coke studio. In season 5 Qayaas rose to fame owing to its high-octane performance onCharkha Nolakhaalongside Atif Aslam in the fifth season ofCoke Studiobut this year Umairwill try to show the mellow side of the band.
“Being stagnant is one thing that annoys me as a musician — you have to experiment with your art form,” said Atif Aslam. “This is the reason why I keep coming back to Coke Studio — it is one platform where you get a chance to reinvent yourself every time. Insha’Allah you will get to hear a different Atif altogether.”
While talking to Zeb&Haniya, they said “ Its our third season at Coke studio and we are exciteied to be back. We are hoping for something new and fresh in this season. It will a new and valuable experience will season6. “
This year Coco Cola Company has brought something exciting and new which is the book of Coke Studio. A beautiful and classic coffee table book titled “Coke Studio- Sound of the Nation.” The book is a photographic journey of the finest pictorial collection, quotes and narration of our rich musical heritage celebrating the essence of Coke Studio. It celebrates the people and diverse culture of Pakistan as embodied through the music of Coke Studio; cultivating a sense of national pride amongst Pakistan. There are also some quotes from musicians and bloggers as well as colorful prints of fan art; the book is a visual treat.
With foreign musicians stepping in, collaboration and a great line up of the artists will surely seems to be something to watch out for.
