Cambridge Judge Business School expands its Operations
~ Donation from CISCO provides window to the world for entrepreneurs ~
Cambridge Judge Business School has signed an agreement with Cisco, who will be donating to the School 500,000 USD worth of telecommunications equipment and resources.
The donation will strengthen the School’s entrepreneurial capacity enabling it to launch a new incubator which will be operational from June 2012. This incubatorwill offer ongoing nurturing and support for rigorously selected teams of entrepreneurs for up to two years with a focus on access to mentors, co-founders, business school faculty experts and investors and will run a two month mentor-led accelerator programme over the summer.
Commenting, Professor Christoph Loch, Director, Cambridge Judge Business School, said:
“The School sits at the centre of the Cambridge Cluster, often referred to as ‘Silicon Fen’. The School, through our Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) has provided a unique combination of academic and practitioner led support, and has traditionally helped entrepreneurs to learn about business and commercialization, thus supporting the strength of the Cluster. The agreement and donation however greatly expands the School’s entrepreneurial portfolio. The equipment will enable us to help entrepreneurs from all across the Cambridge community with early stage ventures develop further and translate their ideas into successful businesses.”
Hermann Hauser, Founder Amadeus Capital Partners, and renowned Cambridge entrepreneur, commented:
“It is wonderful to see this new Cambridge accelerator initiative combining the best of our technology cluster and the business school to bring the translation of innovation into successful business to a much wider audience. This accelerator will help to spread the knowledge on how to deal with technology start ups, I wish it every success.”
