It was Ali Zafar in the current generation of actors who paved way for other artists in Bollywood after getting roles in movies like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Tere Bin Laden and Kill Dil to name a few. Since a few years due to the ban on Pakistani artists to work in Bollywood the collaboration is not taking place but from time to time different Bollywood stars have spoken in favour of Pakistani Artists.
Recently it was Parineeti Chopra who spoke in favour of working with Pakistani actors and specifically about her co star Ali Zafar from Kill Dill during the recent promotions of her movie Namaste England
“When you meet us, you will never know Ali is from a different country till he tells you that. Everybody is just normal. We are all actually the same. We are a country who were one before we were divided. So obviously people are the same. I don’t think there’s anybody else who is coming up and eating our current work. There are so many make-up artistes, hair-stylists that we work with who’ve come from South Africa, they’ve come from London. Our own DOP of our film was from Greece. I think we take it in positive. There’s a fresh energy that comes in the team, they bring their own strengths. So I personally do not agree with this ban that has come. I wish I could work with Ali again,”
Here’s hoping that this ban ends soon and the talented actors of our country like Ali Zafar gets to work across border and collaborate on even bigger platforms which will eventually be beneficial for Pakistani cinema in the long run!
