Autumn Decor Tips

Vision effects your moods and stimuli reponses. Colors and shapes of the things around us make us feel either comfortable or irky. Nothing is best to stay comfortable than to be at home. Summer has gone and winter is on its way. We are going through lovely season of autumn and adding autumn touches of decor to your home will help you transition into the new season with excitement of coming year. And make you want to jump into the heap of crunchy leaves. Fall decor colors can be rich and robust or subtle and subdued. Colors like golden Brown, Camel, Beiges, moss Green, Yellow Green, Lime Green, Orange, Pumpkin, Rust, Tomato Red, Dark Peach and Ivory are best to express autumn in your home. Chose your style and color combinations and from the exterior to the interior of your home make it “Your” home. Here are some ways to get your home ready to celebrate another lovely autumn:


1) Add fall colors to every room in your house by changing throw pillows, area rugs, bed and bath linen that blend with your home decor.Contrast them accordingly with the colors of windows, door and walls. Grouping small pumpkins on a kitchen and bathroom counter top to add instant color and fall inspiration to ordinarily boring counter tops.



2) Luminaries are not the accessory for winter holiday seasons only, they are perfect for autumn also. Sun starts to set earlier in the afternoon and battery powered candles placed inside paper bags with sand in the bottom, makes perfect luminaries for the autumn evenings.For the traditional type, place candles inside bags and lit them most places of sitting. You can make mini pumpkins,  decorative candleholders. Carve a hole large enough for a tea candle in the top of the pumpkin. You can arrange a bunch of them across a mantle or down the middle of the dining table.


3) Fall artwork can change the mood in your home instantly. Choose some warm color artwork that dipict autumn/fall themes and display them in perfect places. Consider nature themes with fall colors in oranges, rusts, and golden yellows. If you prefer more abstract art, oil paintings with browns, reds, and burnt umber will make a perfect atmosphere.


4) Try placing some simple and inexpensive display items, fill mason jars or decorative glass jars with candy corn, or other colorful novelty items. Fill various sizes and shapes with colorful dried beans, or healthy after school snacks for the kids. You can make the decor functional as well as beautiful. Bring the aromas of autumn into your home.Try bringing candles, incense, or boil a pot of spices – cinnamon sticks, cloves, and nutmeg.


5) Now that the cooler temperatures are settling in, prepare your home by replacing the lighter fabrics with heavier ones. Hang heavier drapery and curtains. Deeper colors and heavier fabrics will feel warmer and hold more air out of the room. Choosing warm autumn shades to match your decor will bring instant change from floor to ceiling.
