Bollywood starlet and Australian TV host Tania Zaetta has been arrested in her home country, Australia. Tania was apparently involved in a nightclub brawl during which she allegedly had a altercation with the police as well. The Australian police put her behind bars and charged her with “causing public nuisance” and “obstructing the police”. She was released on bail a few hours later, says a source.
According to Australian Associated Press (AAP), she spent several hours in jail before she was granted watch house bail. Zaetta will now face criminal charges at the Southport Magistrates Court on April 4. According to the Australia police, the arrest reportedly took place at 1.15am (Australia time) at Orchid Avenue nightclub in Surfers Paradise.
Meanwhile, Zaetta, in a statement released by her lawyers, has claimed that she is innocent and had nothing to do with the charges framed against her by the police. “She would protest her innocence to the charges and strenuously defend the matters in court,” her lawyers said in the statement.
The lawyers have requested for the CCTV footage, and are planning to use it to “assist in the defence of Ms Zaetta,” the statement added.
“Ms Zaetta has always conducted herself with integrity, dignity and with respect to those around her. She is well known for her work in the local community as well as her on-going media career here in Australia, India and the UK,” the statement further added. Zaetta was last seen in Bollywood when she essayed the role of actor Arshad Warsi’s wife in the film Salaam Namaste.
