Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor to work together after 22 years!
The Bollywood veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor have gifted quite a number of hit films. Who can forget their performance in Amar Akbar Anthony? The last time they came together was in Ajooba – a mythical tale of superhero. Now, after almost 22 years, the two veteran actors will again share screen space. They will be seen in Sudhir Mishra’s Mehrunnisa whose shooting is scheduled to start in September.
According to a source, “Sudhir wants the two actors to get comfortable with being uncomfortable with one another. They will go through a period of rehearsals and workshops to play two hostile friends. Because the roles Rishi and the Big B play will be playing are of two friends who have not spoken to one another for 25 years!”
Another source from the project adds, “They play two friends, one a Muslim the other a Hindu. They have a fall out because they were both in love with the same girl. Now 25 years later they confront one another.”
The film is all set for shooting, but Bachchan had to undergo abdominal surgery in Mumbai and so the schedule had to be put back. Rishi Kapoor said, “We were to shoot for the film in April but because of Amitabh’s health condition the shooting has been put off to October.” However, he refused to divulge the details of the film.
