Salman Khan’s much-loved action comedy, Kick, completed five years of its release yesterday. For quite long now, there has been talk of a sequel. However, not much is known about the development of the high-budget project. But a recent report by a tabloid confirms that the film is very much on track and producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala, who had directed the prequel, has finished writing the first draft of the script.
Kick 2, the report says, will go on floors in 2020. “Since Kick was a much-loved film, Sajid and his writing team is taking things extremely slow, to ensure that part two lives up to the expectations of the audience,” a source has been quoted in the report as saying. “There have been several brain-storming sessions to lock the premise of the story, which carries forward the franchise. They have finally zeroed in on the idea,” it added.
For those not in the know, when the producers were hunting for a director for Kick, it was Salman who had insisted that Nadiadwala directed it. Before Nadiadwala could react, the superstar had announced him as the director of Kick on Twitter.
“Salman and Sajid are constantly in touch – the discussion is mostly about Kick 2. Both of them extremely keen and eager to team up again. Sajid has discussed the basic premise of the film with him, and Salman Khan is quite kicked about the project,” the source further said. Like its prequel, Kick 2 will be shot at various locations across India and abroad.
