Varanasi: Shilpa Shetty today said that she had no plans of venturing into politics.

“I honestly have no interest in politics, I don’t think, I could ever get into politics,” said Shetty.

When asked about the person, who should become the next Prime Minister of India, Shetty, 38, without naming anyone said, “From my point of view as a common person the PM of India should be a person who must keep the nation first and himself later.”

“He should be the one who must take the country forward on the path of development,” she added.

As a co-owner of Rajasthan Royals, the actor said it makes her proud that players like Ravindra Jadeja, Yusuf Pathan, Stuart Binny and Sanju Samson, who once played for her team, are today representing the Indian cricket team.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) gave such players a platform to come forward and represent the nation, she said.

On a question about the master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar being conferred with Bharat Ratna, she said he deserves all the awards.
